Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd., A Gold rate State PSU, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Corporate Office, Training Centre & Units on 15th August 2024. At the Corporate Office, the National Flag was hoisted by Sri Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) in presence of Sri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) and Smt. Anima Tripathy, Director (HR)I/c, officers & staff. On this occasion, National Flags and Tri-colour badges was distributed among the employees. Sri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) hoisted the National Flag at the OHPC Training Centre, Chandaka.

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. on 6th March 2024. Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Social Enterpreneur, Educationist and CEO, Sushruta Hospital graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Subash Chandra Jena, Director (HR) of OHPC was present during the inaugural session of the programme and addressed the gathering. Sri Jena gave the inaugural address and emphasized on the empowerment of women and gave real life examples of Women in powerful positions around the world. He further emphasized that women are born powerful, empowered. Hence, no need of empowering them. Dr. Khatua while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the fact that women have an inner Kasturi fragrance. i.e power in them and they have to realize its importance. Women are there to spread happiness and positivity. She also talked about her journey throughout the years in tribal development and health sector. The vote of thanks of the inaugural programme was presented by Ms. Smruti Sudha Panda, Manager (PR). On the occasion of the Women’s Day celebrations, a workshop was organised in association with Dr. Ashok Kumar Mangaraj, Director of BRAINSTAIN. Dr. Mangaraj carried out session on women empowerment and also focused on achieving emotional stability for women. The next session was by Ms. Laxmi Priya Senapati, an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant. Ms. Senapati gave inputs on Nutrition and Eyecare with respect to Women. All the female employees of the Corporate Office were present during the programme & enthusiastically participated in the same. Gifts were distributed to all the participants at the end of the event.

Inaugural Meeting of small hydropower plants sectional committee WRD 29 of Bureau of Indian Standards The national mirror committee (NMC) to ISO / TC 339 small hydropower plants held at BIS New Delhi on Feb 27, 2024. Members from FISH PAN India (Federation of Indian Small Hydropower), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Central Water Commission, UJVNL Limited, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, Orissa Hydro Power Corporation Limited, Hydro and Renewable Energy Department, Punjab Energy Development Agency, Geological Survey of India, Central Water And Power Research Station, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (Neepco), ANDRITZ HYDRO Pvt. Ltd., Voith Hydro, FLOVEL Energy Private Limited delebrated in the meeting and decided course of action including preparing and finalising various standards related to small hydropower development broadly through under general, civil works and E&M works categories. For the next ISO / TC 339 meeting, items have been also proposed for presentation from India.Mr Malay Kant Swain attend Sectional Committee of BIS for Small Hydro.

The 1st World Odia Language Conference was inaugurated on 3rd Feb,2024 . In order to commemorate this occasion Sri Amresh Kumar, MD, OHPC along with all the employees of OHPC Corporate Office, Training Centre, and Units sang the State anthem “Bande Utkal Janani” at 11:00 AM on 3rd Feb, 2024 with great enthusiasm.

With an impressive background and vast experience , Sh Mohanty will play a key role in driving our organisation's mission and vision. He has assumed the charges of the office of Director (Finance), OHPC on 04.11.2023. Sh Mohanty is a member of two premier professional bodies i.e. Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) from 1993 and Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) from 1996. Embarking on his journey with OHPC as Company Secretary in the year 2013 , Sh Mohanty had assumed additional charges as Head (Legal) and Chief Vigilance Officer of OHPC and the Company Secretary-cum-Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Limited (GEDCOL), a wholly owned subsidiary of OHPC. As the CFO,GEDCOL, Sh Mohanty has comprehensive portfolio which includes execution of three nos. of Solar Power Plants of 32 MW across the State of Odisha and also playing a pivotal role in implementation of many other Solar Projects and SHEPs. As Company Secretary, OHPC he is instrumental in the disinvestment of 49% of shares of OPGC from AES to Govt. of Odisha and also transfer of 49% shares of OCPL from OHPC to Govt. of Odisha. Sh Mohanty possesses around 30 years of rich experience in diversified Business areas such as Board Level Functions, Company Secretarial, Disinvestment, Finance, Accounts, Project Financing, Legal, HR, Banking, Trust, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Tender, Contract Management, Land Acquisition, Vigilance, Policy matters etc. in many State PSUs i.e. NESCO & OTPC and many other reputed Private Sector Companies.

Odisha Hydro Power Corporation, a Gold Rated State PSU, is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week-2023 at its Corporate Office, Training Centre and Units situated at different locations of the State from 30th October to 5th November 2023. All the employees took the Integrity Pledge at 11 AM on 30th October 2023. Banners and posters regarding vigilance awareness were displayed at strategic locations in the office premises to raise awareness among all. On this occasion, an Awareness Programme was organised at the OHPC Training Centre on 03.11.2023. Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) Sri Biswanath Rath, Former Judge of Hon’ble High Court of Orissa was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Sri Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation), Sri Subash Chandra Jena, Director (HR), Sri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, CS and CVO and officials of OHPC were also present on the occasion. Director (HR) delivered the inaugural address and threw light on the importance of a corruption free environment in an organization. He also pointed out that OHPC believes in the philosophy of zero tolerance to corruption and has managed to maintain zero vigilance cases so far. It’s a unique achievement for OHPC and an example for State PSUs. Director (Operation) in his address stated that by observing Vigilance Awareness Week every year, awareness has been developed and a day may come, the society in large will become corruption free. CVO in his speech viewed that, if every individual adheres to honesty and abide by the moral principles, there will be no corruption in any organization, which thereby will help in Nation Building. The chief Guest Sri Rath, while speaking during the programme, emphasized on the importance of a Corruption free environment at both individual and society level. He gave some real-life experiences about the cost of corruption in the society and shared his experience while working with OHPC in legal matters. To mark the occasion a Debate competition was organised for the employees at Corporate Office on 02.011.2023. The winners were:- 1st prize- Sri Dharmendra Nath Patra, GM (Ele.), 2nd prize- Sri Niranjan Jena, DGM (Finance) and Sri Subhasish Dash, DM (Ele.) and 3rd Prize- Sri Rakesh Kumar Dash, Management Trainee (PR). They were presented with memento and Gifts by the Guest. The 1st prize winner, Sri Patra delivered an excerpt from his debate presentation. Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, IAS, Chief Secretary of Odisha launched E-Office for Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and implemented by the Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative(CMGI) under 5Ts initiative of General Administration (Administrative Reforms) and Public Grievance Department at 11 AM on 03.11.22 in the 2nd Floor Conference Hall in the Lokaseba Bhawan. The event took place in the esteemed presence of Sri Surendra Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, GA and PG Department & Tourism Department, Sri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Commerce & Transport Department & Chairman, OHPC Ltd. , Sri Amresh Kumar, MD, OHPC Ltd., Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director(HR), Sri Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director(Operation), Sri Debalok Mohanty, SGM(Fin.) , Sri Pradeepta Mohan Singh, DGM (IT) and higher officials of OHPC. Launching the E-Office, Sri Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said, “E-Office system makes the Governance present and future ready. OSWAS and e-office are excellent examples of IT application in Governance. It has made the conduct of Government business more quick, accurate and responsive. Carrying bundles of files on veranda of the offices, pending of the files for months together, missing of the files, and making mischief with files are now stories of past”. E-Office brochure has been launched by Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, IAS, Chief Secretary , Sri Surendra Kumar, IAS, and Sri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS. During the event, Sri Amresh Kumar, MD OHPC initiated first transaction in E-Office system by processing of e-file of OHPC.
