REVIEW MEETING OF OHPC BY HON’BLE ENERGY MINISTER
The Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Industries & MSME, Odisha Sj. Pratap Keshari Deb visited OHPC Corporate Office on 20.07.2022 and reviewed various Project activities of OHPC & GEDCOL in presence of Sri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Dept., School & Mass Education Dept. & Chairman, OHPC, Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR), Sri Asish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation), Sri Surajit Paul, CEO, GEDCOL & other senior officials of OHPC. At the outset, the Chairman welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and explained about the renovation works, new Projects including Proposed Pump Storage Projects and other small & mini Hydro Projects to be undertaken. Chairman OHPC has appreciated the sustained and coordinated efforts of the Team OHPC by which hydroelectric power generating capacity of HHEP, Burla has been increased from 275.5 MW to 287.8 MW after renovation & modernisation of Unit-5 &6 resulting in addition of 12.3 MW of power to Odisha grid. Chairman of OHPC, stated that it is a committed and relentless endeavour of OHPC to serve the state as well as to provide cheapest green power to the people of the state.
The Hon’ble Minister assured to provide necessary support for setting up of new renewable Power Projects in Odisha. Further, he also emphasised for periodical reviews of Projects at different Project locations. Sri Asish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) explained about the present status of different Projects under OHPC. Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR) appraised regarding different the HR & CSR activities of OHPC and recent welfare measures initiated for the employees.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA-2022 AT OHPC
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation celebrated the International Day of Yoga-2022 at its Corporate Office and Units on 21st June 2022. On the occasion, a One Day Yoga Training programme on the theme “Healthy Living Through Yoga & Pranayama” was conducted by Sri Sri University, Cuttack at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar. Prof (Dr.) R.N.Satpathy, Director of Sri Sri University was present during the inaugural session and spoke on the occasion. Mr. Amresh Kumar, Managing Director, Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR) & Mr. Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) addressed during the inauguration of the programme.
Mr. Saurav Baweja, Yoga Instructor from Sri Sri University carried out a Yoga session wherein employees participated enthusiastically. They performed various Yoga sequences for daily practices, Aasanas, Pranayama for Health benefits. Mr. Pankaj Vijh, Dy. Director Operations, Sri Sri University, spoke on the topic-Yoga for Health. A special talk was delivered by Mr. Jayesh Daulatjada, Director Admissions, Sri Sri University on- Yoga for Wellbeing. OHPCians enjoyed the programme & actively participated in the same. A Health Gift Hamper was presented to all the participants at the end of the programme.

OHPC CELEBRATES 27TH FOUNDATION DAY
The 27th OHPC Foundation Day of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. was celebrated with splendor at the Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar on 21st April 2022.Sj. Dibya Shankar Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of State, Energy, Industries, MSME & Home was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Hemant Sharma, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Industries Dept. and Skill Development & Technical Education Dept. & Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Finance Dept. were the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The Chief Guest & Guests of Honour addressed the gathering. Shri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., I & PR Dept., School & Mass Education Dept. and Commerce & Transport Dept. & Chairman, OHPC presided over the meeting. Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR) extended the welcome address. Shri Amresh Kumar, Managing Director, Sri Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) & Shri Gagan Bihari Swain, Director (Finance) of OHPC were present on the occasion.
The Chief Guest lighted the lamps & inaugurated the function. The award for the Best Performing Unit of OHPC was presented to Chiplima Hydro Electric Project, Chiplima. The award for 2nd Best Performing Unit went to Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project, Mukhiguda & the Best Housekeeping Unit was awarded to Hirakud Hydro Electric Project, Burla. The Vote of Thanks was extended by Shri Surajit Paul, DGM (Ele.), OHPC.
The evening was adorned with captivating cultural programme. Artists from Nupur Dance Academy enthralled the audience with an inaugural Odissi Dance Drama. Lasyakala Dance Vision performed an attractive Sambalpuri Dance. Sri Jitendra Ojha presented a Comedy Act. The end of the programme was a Musical Performance by Dr. Achyutananda Mishra & Troupe.

OHPC CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY-2022
International Women’s Day was celebrated at the Corporate Office & all Units of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. on 8th March 2022. On the occasion, a One Day Programme was organized at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar on 8th March 2022. Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Rath, Member, OPSC was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Dr. Nibedita Mohanty of Feel Alive Group was the facilitator of the programme on the theme of “Gender Equality today for a Sustainable tomorrow”. Sri Amresh Kumar, Managing Director, Sri Pravakar Mohanty, Director (Finance) and Dr. P.K.Mohanty, Director (HR) were present during the inaugural session and also spoke on the occasion. Prof (Dr.) Sangeeta Rath emphasized on Gender Equality as a major issue in the global scenario and also gave insight on the day to day role of women to bring in equality in the society. Dr. Nibedita Mohanty gave a talk on the Role of stress management in the life of women and also carried out different activities to make the program more interactive. All the female employees of the Corporate Office were present during the programme & enthusiastically participated in the same. Similar programmes were also organised at all the Units of OHPC to celebrate the International Women’s Day-2022. Various games, Dance performance, Awareness programme, etc were organised to mark the occasion.

OHPC CELEBRATES 73RD REPUBLIC DAY
The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm among the employees at the OHPC Corporate Office, Training Centre & its Units. At the Corporate Office, the National Flag was hoisted by Sri Amresh Kumar, MD, in presence of Sri Pravakar Mohanty, Director (Finance), Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR), Sri Ashish Kumar Mohanty Director (Operation), officers & staff. The Republic Day was celebrated at the respective offices by maintaining appropriate social distancing, wearing of masks and related protocols as per the directives issued by the Govt. of Odisha.
Sri Amresh Kumar, MD congratulated all employees and family members of OHPC on the auspicious occasion of 73rd Republic Day. MD impress to recalled the supreme sacrifice of those who lost their lives for independence of our country and further safeguarding & building it. He further exhorted to pledge to always keep the tricolour high and rising. He further called upon to celebrate freedom and autonomy with deep sense of responsibility to the nation.

SEVEN UNITS OF OHPC, BURLA MADE FULLY FUNCTIONAL
Bishnupada Sethi, IAS Chairman, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) has appreciated the sustained and coordinated efforts of the Team OHPC as at present all the Seven Units at Burla Power Station are fully functional with enhanced capacity.
Total hydroelectric power generating capacity of HHEP, Burla has been increased from 275.5 MW to 287.8 MW which is a cheap and green source of energy.
Chairman in review of generation efforts of OHPC, stated that it is a committed and relentless endeavour of OHPC to serve the state as well as to provide cheapest green power to the people of the state.
HHEP Burla, a leading Hydro Power station of the state, started generating electricity since December 1956.
Units 5 & 6 of HHEP, Burla, after rendering continuous service for more than 50 years, recently undergone Renovation, Modernization & Uprating (R,M&U) as per CEA guide lines.
RM&U work of these units was taken up through Voith Hydro Private Ltd. (India) since October 2015 with financial implication of 158.77 Crore.
On completion of RM&U work, both the Unit- 5 & 6 have been put to commercial operation w.e.f. 02.11.2021 & 09.01.2022 respectively.
After RM&U work, the capacity of both the units have been enhanced from 37.5 MW to 43.65 MW each resulting in addition of 12.3 MW of power to Odisha grid.
OHPC had already Renovated, Modernized & Uprated Unit- 1, 2, 3 & 4 of HHEP, Burla in phased manner and fed an additional capacity of 40 MW (12×2 + 8×2) into Odisha Grid.
The successful RM&U of Unit- 5 & 6 will augment financials of OHPC and these additional power generation capacity will contribute to Odisha Grid at the time of peak load management.

Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services (IQEMS) , Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Hyderabad & Odisha State Productivity Council jointly organized Odisha State Safety Conclave-2021 in the Hotel New Marrion, Bhubaneswar, wherein Sri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Chairman, OHPC received the Kalinga Excellence Award-2021 in the Best Corporate Governance-PSU category for his dynamic leadership and outstanding contributions to make OHPC as an exemplary Gold rated State PSU in good governance. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Speaker, Odisha Legislative Assembly, Sri Surjya Narayan Patro in presence of Mr. Toufique Hasan, Hon’ble Deputy High Commissioner, Bangladesh; Sri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, IAS (Retd.) and Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, IAS, Labour Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha. In the said Conclave, Dr. Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (HR), OHPC was also awarded the Kalinga Best HR Excellence Award-2021 for his remarkable contribution in the field of HR.

COMPLETION OF RM & U WORK OF UNIT-6 OF HHEP,BURLA.
OHPC achieved another milestone in contributing renewable Hydro Power to the State of Odisha by completing RM & U work of Unit-6 of HHEP, Burla. The Unit is declared available to the grid from 18.00 Hrs. on 02.11.2021 with an uprated capacity of 43.6 MW. The installed capacity of HHEP, Burla now increased to 281.6 MW from 275.5 MW.

OHPC ORGANISED TRAINING PROGRAM ON PREVENTIVE VIGILANCE.
One day Training Program on “Preventive Vigilance” was conducted on 01.11.2021 at
OHPC Training Centre during Vigilance Week by 3P Associates, Kolkata. MD OHPC
Mr. Amresh Kumar had graced the occasion and Director (HR) and Director (Finance)
were also present. Around twenty-five executives from different Units and Corporate
Office of OHPC had attended the program. Eminent speakers Dr. Santanu Rath, Ex-
Director (HR), OHPC and OMC and Dr. Ashok Kumar Sahu, Ex-ED (HR), NALCO
made presentation and discus on various case studies. The program was a grand
success.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK-2021 AT OHPC
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd is observing the Vigilance Awareness
Week-2021 from 26 th October to 1 st November 2021 in its Corporate Office and units
situated at different locations of the State. All the employees took the Integrity Pledge to
promote ethical business practices and foster a culture of honesty and integrity, commit to
good corporate governance based on transparency, accountability and fairness, etc. To
mark the occasion, banners and posters regarding vigilance awareness were displayed at
strategic locations in the office premises to raise awareness among all. The occasion was
observed by maintaining appropriate social distancing, wearing of mask, proper
sanitisation, etc. as per the Covid-19 directives issued by the Govt.

SRI AMRESH KUMAR JOINS AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF OHPC
Sri Amresh Kumar has joined as Managing Director of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd., a Gold rated State PSU on 16.09.2021. He brings with him a vast experience of 35 years in planning, management and development of mega power projects across India and Bhutan. Prior to this appointment, Sri Kumar was serving as the Managing Director at Punatsangchhu-II Hydro power Authority, Bhutan. He was responsible for developing and executing the 1020 MW Hydroelectric Project in Inter-Government Mode. He started his journey in NHPC in the year 1985 as Engineer at Chukha Transmission System. Sri Kumar holds a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Bhagalpur College of Engineering, Bihar.
