SHRI AMIYA KUMAR MOHANTY JOINS AS DIRECTOR (OPERATION) OF OHPC
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shri Amiya Kumar Mohanty as Director (Operation) with effect from 2nd February 2026.
A distinguished hydro power professional, Shri Mohanty brings over three decades of rich experience, technical excellence, and deep institutional knowledge having risen through the ranks within OHPC. His career exemplifies unwavering dedication and mastery across the entire lifecycle of hydro assets—from hands-on Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of legacy power stations to the commissioning of modern generating units. He has played a pivotal role in leading complex Renovation & Modernization (R&M) initiatives, significantly enhancing the life, reliability, and efficiency of aging hydro machinery.
Shri Mohanty has been closely associated with OHPC during its most critical phases of transformation, including the successful transition from the erstwhile State Electricity Board (SEB) framework to a streamlined corporate structure. He has ensured seamless operational continuity under OERC tariff regulations, effectively balancing commercial viability with public service obligations. In recent years, he has also been instrumental in advancing OHPC’s strategic expansion into renewable energy, particularly in the development of large-scale Pumped Storage Plants (PSP).
Articulating his vision for “Powering a Sustainable Tomorrow,” Shri Mohanty stated that, as Director (Operation), he is committed to a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening OHPC’s position as a premier power generation utility, built on the pivotal pillars such as: to establish diversified Generation Excellence like Hydro Electric Projects (HEP), solar power and cutting-edge Pumped Storage Plants to ensure round the clock grid stability, to play a definitive role in the Eastern Region Grid, providing the necessary flexibility and peaking power required for modern grid management, continue to serve as a reliable supplier of green energy at an affordable cost supporting the state’s industrial and domestic growth, to bolster the organization’s financial health through operational efficiency and prudent asset management and to foster a culture of excellence by investing in quality training and developing a future-ready workforce capable of handling next-generation energy technologies.

SH RAJIB LOCHAN PANDA JOINS AS DIRECTOR(PROJECTS) OF OHPC
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC), a Gold-rated State PSU, is pleased to announce that Sh. Rajib Lochan Panda has assumed charge as Director (Projects) with effect from 2nd February 2026.
Sh. Panda brings with him a distinguished professional career spanning India’s Power Sector, encompassing Thermal Generation, Power Transmission and Hydro Power Systems—the three core verticals of Electrical Engineering.
He began his career with NTPC, where he acquired extensive experience in thermal power plant operations and project management. He subsequently served in POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited, making significant contributions to the expansion of India’s power transmission infrastructure, including HVDC systems, Renewable Energy Grid Integration and large-scale inter-regional transmission projects.
Sh. Panda has also served the State as Director (Projects) at OPTCL, where he played a pivotal role in the successful completion of several critical power transmission projects, even during the challenging period of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
With his assumption of charge at OHPC, Sh. Panda completes a comprehensive professional journey across the generation–transmission–hydro spectrum, bringing with him a wealth of technical expertise and leadership experience. His focus will be on strengthening OHPC’s project execution capabilities, modernizing hydro assets, and integrating renewable energy and Pumped Storage Project (PSP)–based solutions to support Odisha’s evolving power landscape.
Expressing his vision on the occasion, Sh. Rajib Lochan Panda stated:

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC) and Union Bank of India (UBI) on 31.01.2026 for Customised Union Super Salary Account for the employees of OHPC.

77TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED AT OHPC
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC), a Gold rated state PSU celebrated the 77th Republic Day on 26th January 2026 at Corporate Office, Training Centre, and its Units with due solemnity and patriotic spirit. At the Corporate Office, the National Flag was unfurled by Sri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), in the august presence of Sri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation), along with senior officers and staff. The National Flag was unfurled by Sri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) at the OHPC Training Centre, Chandaka. To commemorate the historic occasion, hand flags and tricolour badges were distributed among employees, fostering a spirit of unity, pride, and devotion to the nation.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK -2025
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC), a Gold Rated State PSU, observed the Vigilance Awareness Week–2025 across its Corporate Office and Units located at various parts of the State from 27th October to 2nd November 2025, in alignment with the nationwide initiative led by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The observance commenced with the Integrity Pledge administered at 11:00 AM on 27th October 2025 across all Units and Offices of OHPC. At the Corporate Office, the pledge was administered by Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), in the presence of Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), Shri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) I/c, senior officers, and employees. Banners and posters highlighting the theme of vigilance were displayed at prominent locations in the office premises to promote awareness among all employees.
As part of the observance, an Awareness Programme was organised at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar, on 1st November 2025. Shri M. Akhaya, IPS (Retd.), former Director General of Police, Government of Odisha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), and other senior officials of OHPC.
Addressing the gathering, Shri M. Akhaya emphasized the need for fostering a corruption-free environment at both individual and organizational levels. Drawing from his rich experience in public service, he highlighted the far-reaching consequences of corruption on society and urged all to uphold integrity in every sphere of work.
In his inaugural address, Director (HR) reiterated OHPC’s strong commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in all administrative processes. He also mentioned that vigilance-related training programmes are conducted regularly to create awareness about whistleblower policy, and ensuring transparency in the workplace.
To mark the occasion, Essay and Slogan Competitions were organized among employees at the Corporate Office and Training Centre. The winners of the Slogan Competition were:
1. 1st Prize – Shri Samir Mahapatra, DGM (El.)
2. 2nd Prize – Shri Sushree Chandan Panda, Manager (El.)
3. 3rd Prize – Shri Madhab Ch. Barik, DM (El.)
The winners were felicitated with mementoes and gifts, and all participants of the Essay Competition were presented with prizes as a token of appreciation to encourage active participation.
A Nukkad Natak on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” was performed by the employees of OHPC, which was highly appreciated by the audience for its impactful message on integrity and ethical conduct. The week-long observance reaffirmed OHPC’s unwavering commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in all its operations.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA-2025 CELEBRATED AT OHPC
International Day of Yoga-2025 was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation at its Corporate Office and Units on 21st June 2025. On this occasion, a Yoga Training-cum-Awareness programme on the theme “Yoga for one earth, one health” was organized in association with Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar. In the morning session, the yoga training was conducted by the teachers- Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra, Ms. Ayasakantaa Das from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar. Various Yoga sequences for daily practices, Aasanas, Pranayama for Health benefits were practiced. In the afternoon session, internal yoga faculty of OHPC Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal, Dy. Manager (IT) imparted knowledge on various yoga sequences like Yoganidra, Shavasana, etc. to the participants.
To mark the occasion, an inaugural session was held in presence of Sri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), OHPC. Addressing the gathering, Sri Patnaik emphasized on practicing yoga regularly. He said, “Yoga is not a one day practice, it should be a regular habit in our daily routine. At OHPC, we should build a culture of practicing yoga regularly for the well-being and good health.” Further, Sri Patnaik felicitated both Gurus from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya with mementoes.
Ms. Ayasakantaa Das conducted an elaborate yoga session including asanas and pranayamas such as Tadasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Surjya Namaskara, Yoga Nidra, KapalaBhati, etc.
Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra presented a Yoga Awareness Talk and emphasized on the importance of Yoga for healthy life & how it helps to maintain physical as well as mental fitness. He explained about Yoga Nidra and different pranayamas like Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, etc. to increase the energy level in the body.
Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal performed a yogic sleep for mental well-being. Through meditation and spiritual communication he made the participants to feel like as they were moving inside the Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri. He also explained and practiced Shavasana to the participants.
OHPCians actively participated in the programme and practiced various Aasanas and Pranayamas. T-Shirts and Yoga mats were distributed to the participants on this occasion.

OHPC PAYS DIVIDEND OF RS. 92.22 CR FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2023-24 TO GOVT. OF ODISHA
OHPC’s role has been time and again reaffirmed in powering public welfare and various developmental works of the state government by way of providing green, cheaper and sustainable Hydro energy. During FY 2023-24, OHPC has generated 5164 MU of electricity with Annual Revenue of Rs. 896Cr and post tax Profit of Rs.307Cr. OHPC has been paying dividend regularly since last several years.
Sh Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS Principal Secretary, Energy & Electronics & IT, Govt. of Odisha and Chairman & Managing Director of OHPC handed over dividend of Rs. 92.22 Cr for FY 2023-24 to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sj. Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhavan, in the presence of Sj Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Dy Chief Minister, Energy, Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment.

OHPC CELEBRATES 30TH FOUNDATION DAY
The 30th Foundation Day of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. was celebrated with grandeur at the IMMT Auditorium, Bhubaneswar on 21st April 2025. Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS (Retd.), Hon’ble Chairperson, Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Energy and Electronics & IT and CMD, OHPC presided over the meeting. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), Shri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) I/c and Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR) of OHPC were present on the dais.
The Chief Guest and other dignitaries lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function.
Mr. Laxmikant Palit Classical music composer and his troupe sang the melodious Odia composition “Sarve Sang” as the Welcome song of the Foundation Day. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty extended the welcome address.
Gracing the occasion as chief guest, retired IAS officer and chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, emphasized the importance of operational efficiency and the adoption of renewable energy sources.
He emphasized that in the energy sector, we must promote renewables like solar and wind to ensure climate resilience and energy security. Operational inefficiencies directly impact electricity consumers. We must deliver services within stipulated timelines and adhere strictly to regulatory norms.
Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS & CMD, OHPC in his speech has stated that OHPC is one of the largest Hydropower generating corporation in the country among various state PSUs. He emphasized that OHPC should now focus to develop PSPs in Upper Indravati, Kolab and Balimela in a time bound manner to demonstrate its strength and capability.
Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) while addressing the audience spoke about the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the employees in the past years in establishing OHPC as a profitable corporation. He further highlighted that since 2011 onwards, OHPC has been continuously paying dividend to Government Exchequer. He appealed to the employees to be committed to the mission, goals and core values of the Corporation and continue working together to achieve excellence in Hydro & Solar power generation and making a positive impact on the lives of people in our state.
Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR) emphasized on efficient management of the corporation and implementation of future projects, organizational, human resource restructuring, human resource development, skill enhancement, application of new knowledge and techniques, succession planning, leadership development, and internal communication along with the welfare of employees and a sense of social responsibility.
Director (Operation) I/c mentioned that OHPC is consistently attempting to fulfil the MOU targets in terms of Annual Generation, Machine Availability, Renovation & Modernization of old Power Stations. OHPC has been able to consistently generate clean, green and low carbon, sustainable hydro power. OHPC has been utilizing every drop of water delicately balancing the varied requirement of meeting the peak power demand of Grid in one hand and simultaneously downstream water discharge for irrigation requirement.
Different Hydro Electric Projects of OHPC were awarded for Year 2024-25 for their outstanding achievements.
* Best Performing Unit - Upper Kolab Hydro Electric Project, Bariniput
* 2nd Best Performing Unit - Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project, Mukhiguda

Thereafter the cultural dance programme with the Artistic composition of “ANANYA ODISHA” was beautifully performed by the dance artists of Odisha Dance Academy. The dance conceptualized, choreographed and directed by Guru Dr. Aruna Mohanty.

SHRI SANDEEP PATNAIK JOINS AS DIRECTOR(HR) OF OHPC.
Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC), a Gold rated State PSU is pleased to announce the appointment of Shri Sandeep Patnaik as Director (Human Resources), with effect from 17th April 2025.
Sh Patnaik has more than 35 years of rich and multifaceted experience in human resource management, leadership development, organizational transformation, and capability enhancement. He has consistently demonstrated strategic foresight and operational excellence in leading large-scale HR initiatives across the public sector. Sh Patnaik joins OHPC with transformative leadership in human resource management. Known for his deep expertise in formulating forward-looking workforce strategies and fostering inclusive, high-performing organizational cultures, he is exceptionally well-positioned to steer OHPC’s human resource functions toward a new era of innovation, resilience, and excellence.
Prior to joining OHPC, Sh Patnaik served as Executive Director (HR & Skill Development) at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), where he successfully led workforce transformation initiatives impacting over 10,000 employees. His contributions were instrumental in HAL receiving national accolades, including commendation from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the ASSOCHAM Gold Trophy for excellence in skill development.
In addition to his tenure at HAL, Sh Patnaik served as Director at the Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council, where he played a key role in advancing National Skill Development efforts in India’s Aviation and Aerospace industry. He began his professional journey with Hindustan Zinc Ltd. as a management trainee, where he contributed significantly to industrial relations and remarkable productivity improvement.
An accomplished speaker and thought leader, Sh Patnaik regularly shares insights at leading industry forums and academic platforms. He has published several research papers in prestigious National and International Journals, reflecting his deep commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Sh Patnaik holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Law from Berhampur University. He has also undergone advanced executive training at premier institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kolkata, and XLRI Jamshedpur. His professional excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Biju Patnaik Administrative Excellence Award, Public Sector Leadership Award, Rotary International Award and the Bhasendu Bharati Award.
