INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA-2025 CELEBRATED AT OHPC

International Day of Yoga-2025 was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation at its Corporate Office and Units on 21st June 2025. On this occasion, a Yoga Training-cum-Awareness programme on the theme “Yoga for one earth, one health” was organized in association with Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar. In the morning session, the yoga training was conducted by the teachers- Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra, Ms. Ayasakantaa Das from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar. Various Yoga sequences for daily practices, Aasanas, Pranayama for Health benefits were practiced. In the afternoon session, internal yoga faculty of OHPC Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal, Dy. Manager (IT) imparted knowledge on various yoga sequences like Yoganidra, Shavasana, etc. to the participants. To mark the occasion, an inaugural session was held in presence of Sri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), OHPC. Addressing the gathering, Sri Patnaik emphasized on practicing yoga regularly. He said, “Yoga is not a one day practice, it should be a regular habit in our daily routine. At OHPC, we should build a culture of practicing yoga regularly for the well-being and good health.” Further, Sri Patnaik felicitated both Gurus from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya with mementoes. Ms. Ayasakantaa Das conducted an elaborate yoga session including asanas and pranayamas such as Tadasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Surjya Namaskara, Yoga Nidra, KapalaBhati, etc. Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra presented a Yoga Awareness Talk and emphasized on the importance of Yoga for healthy life & how it helps to maintain physical as well as mental fitness. He explained about Yoga Nidra and different pranayamas like Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, etc. to increase the energy level in the body. Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal performed a yogic sleep for mental well-being. Through meditation and spiritual communication he made the participants to feel like as they were moving inside the Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri. He also explained and practiced Shavasana to the participants. OHPCians actively participated in the programme and practiced various Aasanas and Pranayamas. T-Shirts and Yoga mats were distributed to the participants on this occasion.
