Preliminary
investigations reveal that H.D.I and medium hard rock will be met at the fall
sites at foundation levels of power houses. Hence, the foundation strata is
expected to be sufficiently strong for construction of small hydel stations.
Trial pits have been done at the power house site. Hard disintegrated rocks
are met at about 3 m depth.
Location
of the project area
The project site is located near village Gompakonda (18'' 5' N latitude
and 81o 49' E longitude) in kalimela block of malkangiri sub-division
in koraput district of orissa state. The project site is about 9 K.M form
Kalimela and about 140 K.M from Jeypore.
