The Project envisages a hydro capacity addition of 150 MW by installing two units of 75 MW capacity each. The Project was cleared by Govt. of Orissa and subsequently CEA in 05.01.2001 at an estimated cost of 27.127 million USS + Rs.84.80 Crs. INR. The turnkey contract to implement the project was signed with M/s LMZ, Russia. Subsequently, at the request of the firm the contract has been revised for splitting into two parts. The draft split contract has already been approved by the Govt. OHPC has already signed the loan agreement with PFC for funding the project. The Project has been awarded to M/s LMZ, Russia. Preliminary testing of existing infrastructure was done by Russians in 1999 .
